The Tinker Cup - Saturday 17th December 2016

First run in 1908, the Tinker cup is the oldest race in the clubs’ history. This year will be the 97th running of the event.
The challenging cross country handicap race of approximately 6 miles, requires competitors to negotiate walls, fences, gates and and Wickins Dike, along a route from Honley Cricket Club via Netherthong, Hill Lane (checkpoint), Upperthong, Upperthong lane, Binns Lane and Hill, before returning to the Cricket Club.
Due to building work, the facilities at Honley Cricket Club will not be available to us this year.
Registration will be at Neiley pavilion from 12:30pm.
Additional parking will be available at the industrial site opposite Neiley pavilion as per Tuesday and Thursday training nights.
Competitors must then make their way to the sports field adjacent to Honley Cricket Club for the start at 2:00pm.
No handicaps will be given after 1:30pm.
Refreshments and presentation will be at Neiley pavilion.
To enter, please put your name on the list at Neiley. If you are unable to attend regularly on training nights, text / WhatsApp Chris Whitelegg on 07443 545149 and your name will be added to the list.
Please note that members with insufficient indication of form may not receive a handicap.
All full members of HHAC over seventeen years of age on the day of the race are entitled to compete. Members of both HHAC and other clubs will not be eligible for the three main trophies unless HHAC is their first claim club. Novices are not allowed to take the Tinker Cup, as an accurate handicap cannot be given. Juniors wishing to take part must provide a completed parental consent form at race registration. Entry fee £4.00
Members of other clubs may enter as guests. Entry fee £5.00
Please note: Associate members of HHAC and unaffiliated athletes are no longer eligible to enter without a competition licence.
A licence can be obtained by contacting Jaqueline France. The licence fee must be paid at least seven days before the day of the race. Entry fee £5.00
